Genesis

       The department was inaugurated in September 2022 by our distinguished secretary Dr. C.A. Vasuki. Clinical Nutrition is one of the thrust areas of biological sciences which helps to have a direct connect with the food we eat and its impact on our health.

Salient Features

           The course enhances the skills on dietary recommendations for all sections of population both to maintain good  health and the modifications in disease conditions based on our Indian diet.

Vision

To create a healthy society with sound  knowledge of the principles of diet and nutrition and its application in daily living.

Mission

            To produce competent post  graduates in the field of dietetics and clinical nutrition with the requisite skills to guide   people on  sound dietary practices  and apply the principles of diet therapy based on our traditional food.

Course Objectives
  1. To enable students to learn and apply the concepts of menu planning for quality and scalable preparation.

  2. To obtain the skills for nutritional assessment and nutrition education.

  3. To plan therapeutic diets based on the nutrition knowledge acquired by integrating knowledge with skills.

  4. To kindle a thirst for research based on the current findings and augmenting it with the knowledge and skills gained.
