The Costume Design and Fashion department started in the year 2006 within a span of 13 years has grown in its academic structure, offering various courses like diploma and certificate serves as a platform to produce professionals equipped with necessary skill and knowledge in fashion design. The Department of Costume Design and Fashion contributed to the related industries significantly by making available suitable trained degree holders year after year.

The scope of fashion design does not limit to designing clothes and garments, it can cover wider areas of design in the field of jeweler, accessories, footwear, Ample of opportunities are there for the students.

The entire lab is set according to the current demand of textile industry
Pattern Making Lab: The pattern making laboratory has been provided with the standard tables for pattern making and cutting. In this lab, the student learns how they can independently create patterns for different kinds of garments in common use.
Garment Construction Lab: The Garment construction laboratory is equipped with the entire range of apparel sewing machinery ranging from the basic siruba lock stitch machines to the more complex over lock and knitwear flat lock machines. Industrial steam irons, ironing arm boards and cutting machines provide our students knowledge in achieving high standards of garment finishing techniques.
Textile Processing Lab: This lab is fully equipped to dye and print the fabric which provides the student with the skills of adding aesthetic value to textile material and develops the sense of colour.
Textile Testing Lab: It contains various instruments for checking different properties of fibers, yarns & fabrics. Quality Control and testing lab is furnished with all the latest tools for ensuring stringent quality control, which is the need of the Global Industry.
Fashion Sketching Lab: This lab is primarily designed to bring out the creative talents in the students and provide them with professional guidance to develop them. It deals with the effective use of colour, form and material to match the latest trends in fashion.
Computer Laboratory:The Computer Laboratory is a fully functional and highly advanced design and manufacture oriented learning centre. According to the high standards of the industry, we are equipped with the latest design packages.
MOUs have been signed with leading companies namely, APR Textiles , Sri Lakshmi Krishna Exports, Body Land, A German based company in Tirupur , Dream Zone a fashion institute, Asian Fabricx Coimbatore. Every year nearly students are being placed as CAD Designer, Quality Controller, Production in-charge, Junior Merchandiser, Visual Merchandiser Floor in-charge, Jewelry Designer, Event Co-Ordinator, Craft Teacher in schools.
