Dr. R. Devi, known well for her research aptitude and keen interest in higher education has assumed the office of Principal in addition to HOD for the Department of Mathematics. Hailing from a family of farmers, she had her graduation in Mathematics at Vellalar College for Women, Erode, Post Graduation at Seethalakshmi Ramaswamy College, Trichy and M.Phil at Bharathiar University Coimbatore during the year 1984. She has been conferred with Ph.D degree in the year 1995 for her exemplary research work in the field of Topology.
She started her teaching career at Kongunadu Arts and Science College in 1978. She has been guiding research scholars in the field of General Topology, Digital Topology and Fuzzy Topology. She has produced so far 13 M.Phil and 3 Ph.D scholars.
She has published 44 research papers in both National and International Journals. She has actively participated in 20 Conferences, Symposia and Seminars at National and International levels. She has delivered 4 special lectures in the various areas of mathematics. She has acted as research co-ordinator during 2006-09. She has completed 2 mini research projects.
Dr. R. Devi is the referee and reviewer for different international journals. She is a member in 15 Scientific bodies including Life Member in:
Indian Science Congress.
Indian Mathematical Society.
Indian Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
Indian Academy of Mathematics.
She has visited University of Washington Seattle, Stanford University, San Francisco, California in 2009. She is the proud recipient of Meritorious Award constituted by Kongunadu Arts & Science College from 2004 onwards.
