Coimbatore,
“The Gold of KONGUNADU” is an evergrowing industrial city. The long felt need for one more college to meet the educational need of this city was fulfilled on 12th August 1973, the day of inauguration of this College.
16th October 1972 is a memorable day in the history of our College. On that day, the Thudiyalur Cooperative Agricultural Services had organised a function to celebrate Saraswathi Pooja.
Thiru.V.K.Lakshmanan, MSc.,(Ex-MLA), a progressive agriculturist and public worker noted for his selfless service and devotion to work and
Dr.M.Aruchami, MSc.,BT,PhD.,FAZ,FRES (Lond.), the present Secretary, participated in the function. Both gave expression to their long cherished desire to start a college and the impetus for the fulfillment of the desire was readily given by Late T.N.Palanisamy, MA.,IC (Dip.) USA, the then President of the Thudiyalur Cooperative Agricultural Services.
Those who made the beginning were fortunate enough to receive the active support from the eminent doctor Late N.S.Palaniappan, M.B.B.S.,DLO, who had a similar idea to start a college on behalf of Anna Memorial Committee in Coimbatore.
A sincere band of educated and eminent personalities like Thiru.N.Kumaraswamy, Thiru.K.P.Muthuswamy, MA, Thiru.V.S.Chinnaswami Gounder, Er.R.Somasundaram B.E.,FIE, Late S.R.Rathnaswami Gounder, Late M.Subbiah Gounder and Thiru.C.S.Ramachandran B.A., channelised their energies towards the noble task of education.
The Thudiyalur Cooperative Agricultural Services was liberal enough to donate about Rs.75,000/- and the proprietor of Texmo Industries offered Rs.25,000/-. Other generous donors from the agricultural community and philanthropists of Kongunadu followed their steps.
Thiru. V.K. Lakshmanan, MSc., (Ex-MLA), a man of strong and clear convictions endowed with keen sense of imagination and dedication, is the President. He shoulders the heavy responsibilities with dignity, grace and ease and guides the institution on the right path.
The College is ideally located in a serene and rural surrounding not far from the city. It is conveniently connected with all parts of the city through frequent town buses plying from various destinations. The whole campus was a valuable and memorial asset of the noble and philanthropic family of Thiru. V.C. Subbiah Gounder.

| THE COLLEGE EMBLEM |
 |
The college emblem is simple in form but attractive and gives the stamp of dignity to the college with an ideal to aim at. The ‘hut’ represents the fact that many millions of the nation have only humble dwellings. Agriculture is the backbone of our country and the country’s phenomenal growth and prosperity depend not only on agriculture but on industry as well. The ‘plough’ stands for agricultural development and the ‘wheel’ for industrial progress.
The ‘mountain’ represents lofty ideals and noble thoughts; the ‘kuthuvilakku’ symbolizes knowledge; the ‘book’ |
| stands for education and
the ‘veena’ for art. The Nation’s advancement is indicated by the symbols in the upper half while symbols in the lower half signify the growth of the individuals who form the nation. Wisdom without work is lame. Work without wisdom is blind. Either without culture is dead. The emblem bears the motto. |
These three factors contribute to the harmonious and complete growth of an individual. |
