Dr. V. Sugantha ,
Associate Professor of Tamil serves as the Dean for Self-Finance courses of the college. She began her career as a school teacher for 12 years and Headmistress in a school for 4 years. She worked as a lecturer in VNK College of Arts & Science, Mettupalayam for one year. She also worked as a lecturer in Angappa College of Arts and Science for 10 years. She knows three languages- Tamil, English & Hindi. Her dedication in teaching and zeal for Research was aptly recognized by the Bharathiar University and now she is a research supervisor for guiding MPhil in Tamil. Two MPhil scholars have completed their research under her supervision. She has participated & presented papers in various National and International seminars and conferences for updating her research knowledge. She has organized a National level seminar on “A study on 20th c short stories” and also published a book on it.
She served in Admission committee, an organizer for cultural club and Illakkiya Mandram. She served as an N.S.S (Po) for 5 yrs in Angappa College of Arts and Science College. She delivered eleven special talks in All India Radio and she conducted a science quiz for 12th standard students in AIR. In connection with Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Avinashilingam Home Science Women Univesity, she delivered a speech on Annai Saratha Devi. Requisition as Dean for Self Finance Courses she takes care of the faculty members and students belonging to the Self-Finance stream. She renders her services as a Dean by Coordinating the UGC sponsored Career Oriented Programmes and Job Oriented Courses for the common benefit of the students.
