Conversion of Marks into Grade Point The marks obtained by the candidate in each paper will be converted into grade point as given in the table below.

The maximum mark per paper is to be fixed at 100 (If it is less or more than 100, convert it to 100).
Calculation of Grade Point Average (GPA)
The Grade point of each paper will be multiplied with credit point allotted for the paper. This will be substituted with the formula given below to derive the Grade Point Average (GPA).

Where, C = Credit Points assigned for each subject, GP = Grade Point allotted for each subject based on the marks secured.

Evaluation of subjects under Part I-B of PG programmes, Part III-B of UG programmes and Extra credit courses
The marks obtained in Job Oriented Courses, Value Based Courses, Advanced Learners Courses are converted into Grades as given in the table hereunder:

The grades will be displayed along with the appropriate credit points in the semester and consolidated mark sheets. Grades will be entered in the Statements of Marks, only if the candidate has got pass in the said courses.
The final results of the Career Oriented Programmes, Diploma and PG Diploma Courses are displayed in the regular semester and consolidated mark statement as PASS along with the total credit points approved for the course. Separate consolidated statement of marks bearing classification as detailed below with the marks and corresponding credit points obtained in each paper/practical of the course will also be issued.

* Those students who attempt any paper more than once are not eligible for First Class with Distinction. However, improved marks will be considered for classification but not for ranking.
Evaluation of Co-curricular Activities (applicable upto 2007 batch)
Based on the regularity, Aptitude, Discipline, Involvement and overall performance of the students in the co-curricular activities like National Cadet Corps, National Service Scheme, Youth Red Cross and Physical education (Sports and Games), the NCC officers, NSS progamme officers, Coordinator for YRC and Physical Director, respectively shall award marks at the end of fifth semester. This will be displayed in terms of grades in the statement of marks as follows:
Marks 80 and above: Grade A – Exemplary; Marks 70-79: Grade B – Very Good; Marks 60-69: Grade C – Good; Marks 50-59:
Grade D – Fair; Marks 40-49: Grade E – Satisfactory
Evaluation of Extension Activities (applicable for students admitted from academic year 2008-2009 onwards)
The student’s performance will be examined by the Staff-in charge of the extension activities viz. National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Physical education (Sports and Games) along with the head of the respective Department on the following parameters. The marks shall be sent to the Controller of Examinations before the commencement of the fifth semester examinations.
Total Marks – 50 (CIA only) which will be assessed as follows:
20% = 10 marks for regularity of attendance
60% = 30 marks for active participation in class/camps/games/special camps/representation in College/ District /State/University activities.
10% = 5 marks for exemplary awards/certificates/prizes
10% = 5 marks for other social components such as Blood Donation, Fine Arts etc.
c. Classification of Performance A candidate shall be declared to have qualified for the award of the Degree provided the candidate has successfully completed the Programme requirements and has passed all the prescribed subjects of study in all the semesters.
i. Under Graduate Programs
Passing minimum: 40% in End-of-Semester Examinations (ESE) and 40% in aggregate i.e., Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) + End-of-Semester Examinations (ESE)
